Priti Patel, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Witham, visited WH Collier, a bespoke brickworks in Marks Tey. The brickworks, situated there for over 150 years, is now owned by Mr Morris Page, a former employee who bought and took over running the business.
Priti and Mr Page discussed recent growth in the market following the economic crash and subsequent recession under the last Labour Government.
Priti said: 'It is fantastic to visit a well-established business like WH Collier. Their expertise in this field as well as the processes they use are very interesting and I appreciated the opportunity for a tour of this fantastic local business.
'Like many in the building industry, WH Collier were hit hard in 2008 by Labour's great recession. Having survived this tough time, they are now thriving once again, as the Conservative Party's long-term economic plan is supporting house building as well as home ownership.
'A Conservative Government elected on 7 May will go further to support the building sector, including building 200,000 new homes for first-time buyers. The Conservatives are building a strong future for Britain.'
