Priti Patel, Conservative Party Parliamentary Candidate for Witham, has encouraged residents to ensure that they are registered to vote in the General Election on 8 June.
People who were registered to vote at the Local Elections which took place on 4 May should not need to register again. However, Priti is encouraging residents who are unsure to check that they are registered to vote by contacting their local authority.
The last day to register to vote is on 22 May and this can be done online.
Priti said:
"The General Election on 8 June is incredibly important to the future of our country so I would encourage everyone to ensure that they are registered to vote to have their say on who should govern Britain.
"Most people in the Witham constituency are on the electoral register and were able to vote at the Local Elections. But if anyone is unsure I would encourage them to check so that they can exercise their democratic right to vote."
She added: "On 8 June the public will have a clear choice between the strong and stable leadership offered by the Conservative Party and a coalition of chaos under Jeremy Corbyn.
"It is important that people are registered to vote so they can decide on this country's future."
