The highways teams to be busy fixing our roads and pavements. As well as doing seasonal work around flooding and the winter service.

Pothole Repairs

From 22nd – 28th January they filled in 325 potholes (151 of which were on priority roads and on 174 local roads) – the below chart shows a break down by District.

Total Repaired - 325

Basildon -37

Braintree - 62

Brentwood - 16

Castlepoint - 28

Chelmsford - 17

Colchester - 40

Epping Forest - 39

Harlow - 23

Maldon - 25

Rochford - 20

Tendring - 25

Uttlesford - 22

Double the number of potholes filled!

Nearly double the number potholes were repaired across Essex in 2023 following significant investment - 11,949 potholes were fixed compared to a 90% increase from 6,280 pothole repairs in 2022.  The extra funding by our conservative administration meant we could hire 11 additional crews to help carry out repairs – however there is still much more to do!
