Darren White is the Conservative candidate for the Hatfield Peverel and Terling by-election for Braintree District Council. This ward also encompasses White Notley, Faulkbourne, Fairstead and Nounsley.
Essex born, Darren has lived with his family in Fairstead for the past 16 years and for 11 years served on Terling and Fairstead Parish Council.
During his time on the Parish Council, Darren served on theHighways Committee and worked in conjunction with Essex County County to obtain traffic control measures throughout the village along with 30mph limits across the parish. Darren also helped to secure grant funding for the purchase of equipment for the parish to maintain the footpaths and verges, including a Kubota tractor mower.
Darren is fully aware of the speculative development concerns in Hatfield Peverel and has a track record on planning matters having been heavily involved in the early work of Terling’s village design statement which gave residents a say on development in the parish.
After running a local business for many years, Darren began consultancy work on ICT and has worked with local authorities across Essex to help them develop their technology and provide a better service to residents by finding new ways of working.
Living with Multiple Sclerosis, Darren is passionate about making healthcare services more accessible and localised for residents across the ward of Hatfield Peverel and Terling. This will be a key priority for him if elected in May.
